About My Screening Pathway

Prenatal Screening Ontario’s My Screening Pathway has been designed to help pregnant people in Ontario by providing information about screening and a timeline of screening options.

Why Did PSO Create My Screening Pathway?

Following a research and design process, PSO learned that many pregnant people in Ontario are interested in the benefits of prenatal screening, though they often did not know:

  • What prenatal screening is
  • What screening tests are available to them
  • How to access prenatal screening, and
  • When to access prenatal screening tests.

My Screening Pathway was created as a resource for pregnant people in Ontario to learn about and discuss their prenatal screening options with a health-care provider.

About Prenatal Screening Ontario (PSO)

PSO is funded by the Government of Ontario to ensure high-quality prenatal screening. We are Ontario's resource for pregnant individuals, families and health-care providers looking for information about:

  • Prenatal screening for chromosome differences such as Down syndrome and Edwards syndrome, and
  • Prenatal testing for fetal blood type to identify blood type incompatibility.

These tests and others help pregnant people and health-care providers create a personalized care plan for the pregnancy.
